<p>A natural teacher &#8211; and an eternal student &#8211; Dan&#8217;s practice evolved organically through<br />
Shiva Rea&#8217;s Affiliate Teacher Training Program at Ananda Shala. His classes explore the<br />
physical edge even while calming the mind and encouraging a deeper sense of self. Dan is registered with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher.</p>

<div><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Alex fell in love with the mind/body aspect of yoga while completing her bachelor&#8217;s degree in Communication Studies and Spanish minor at the University of Maryland. While at the University, she began teaching Group Exercise classes. Upon graduation, she spent two months traveling to 33 cities in the US on an promotional tour as part of an internship. She then left for Spain to teach English for a year. After returning from an incredible experience which included extensive travel in Europe and time for personal reflection, Alex became determined to continue teaching and living and promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She has since received her AFAA Group Exercise Certification and completed her 200 hour RYT at Ananda Shala. Alex plans on continuing her yoga studies in Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow style. </p>
<p>Alex currently works for Samudra Yogadventures and is a Personal Trainer for KBK Fitness in Georgetown, D.C.</span></div>

With the energy of the Olympic games coming to a close perhaps we can take inspiration from the tremendous atheletes who persevere no matter what the obstacle. We all know that a huge part of what helps bring us to greatness is our mental capacity to never give up. Stay connected to your &#8220;resolution&#8221; or commitment that you have made for yourself this year. We all have set backs and times that challenge our ability to stay dedicated to our personal goals &#8211; it&#8217;s what we do with these set backs that matters. In February we were able to raise $500 for the Haiti earthquake and matched over another $500 to donate a total of $1008 to Doctors Without Borders. Thank you to those who participated and donated with either heart or wallet. We know that our donations are going to a good cause. If you wish to make any further donations to Doctors Without Borders for either Haiti or Chile &#8211; we are able to take that donation at any time and pass it on.</div>
