Class Descriptions
Yoga (Levels 1 to 3)
Prana Flow ® Yoga – Energetic Vinyasa is a full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga created by Shiva Rea. Students of all levels are empowered to experience prana – the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence – as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living. Experience innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga and the state of flow within the rhythm of class.
Levels*
Level 1
Slower paced class with more time to rest and deep explanation of postures
Level 2
More athletic in nature than level 1 but is also open to physically fit beginners
Level 3
Vigorous practice with more advanced postures. not recommended for beginners
*These levels are offered as a guide however everyone is welcome in every class
Basic Yoga (Level 1)
Beginner yoga class for the total newbie to yoga. Perfect class for all those new to yoga or wanting a basic yoga class. We review breath, alignment and introduce sun salutations. Basic standing and seated postures will be offered as well.
Gentle Yoga (Level 1)
A soothing experience that includes breathing and relaxation practices along with gentle expoloration of therapeutic stretches and postures.
HOT Yoga (All Levels)
A flow yoga class that is taught in a heated room. Yoga room is kept at approx. 75 degrees to allow the musles to relax and open. HOT classes are further heated for deeper mental and physical detoxification and challenge
Ashtanga Flow (Level 1/2)
A flow yoga class following the general Ashtanga sequence developed by Pattahbi Jois. This class will offer modifications and shorter format as well as improvisational adjustments to the flow.
Yoga Groove (Level 1/2)
Rock your asana Friday night – Let go & have fun. All level yoga class featuring upbeat music, energizing flow to unwind & de-stress.
Free Yoga (Level 1/2)
Join our newest up and coming instructors who are completing our teacher training program for this FREE class. This is our way of giving back to you who have been so supportive to Ananda Shala. A level 1/2 class with options offered for intermediate & beginner students.
Be sure to PRE-REGISTER ONLINE or call to register as space is very limited. Please only register 1 week in advance & be sure to arrive early as spots can only be held until 10 minutes before class. If you are unable to attend a class you have pre-registered for, please delete your registration. Thank you for your help to manage the flow for this class.
Kids Yoga Classes
Kids will have fun and be inspired toward life balance that they’ll carry with them every day. Taught by certified kid yoga instructors always. Pre-Natal Yoga Classes
Take this time to prepare for your new little bundle with yoga. Experience breath and movement as you connect inside and out along this journey toward the birth of your baby. See Workshops Tab for course dates, times & descriptions.
Pilates Mat (Beginner & Intermediate)
Taught in the traditional, classical method designed by J.H. Pilates to strengthen and lengthen from your core for full body vitality. Offering a prescribed sequence of exercises taught by Power Pilates certified instructors. Beginner & Intermediate classes offered on regular schedule. It is recommended to attend a minimum of 10 beginner mat classes or 5 Intro to Pilates Equipment Classes prior to joining an Intermediate Class.
Pilates Total Fitness (Intermediate)
Enjoy 30 minutes of Pilates Mat followed by strength-based exercises utilizing light weights, magic circle, or resistance bands. A complete total body workout from the core out. Recommended for Intermediate students with a minimum of 10 beginner pilates mat or 5 Intro to Pilates Equipment classes.
Intro to Pilates Equipment (Beginner)
For those new to Pilates Equipment. Includes up to 3 students with one instructor for 55 minutes. You will utilize all of the Pilates apparatus as well as Pilates mat work. (These classes are separate from the standard Pilates mat classes & are an additional cost). Must pre-register for class online to reserve your spot. (24 hour cancellation policy)
Pilates Tower
For advanced beginner or intermediate Pilates students. Includes up to 3 students with one instructor for 55 minutes. You will utilize the Pilates tower as well as Pilates mat work to strengthen your core, arms, legs & tush. (These classes are separate from the standard Pilates mat classes & are an additional cost). Must Pre-Register Online to Reserve Your Spot! (24 hour cancellation policy)
